Electric showers draw a large current, so the circuit, cable size and protection must match the shower's kW rating. Upgrading from an 8.5 kW to a 10.5 kW shower, for example, often means the existing cable isn't suitable.
We install new showers, replace failed units and upgrade shower circuits. We check the existing circuit before fitting a new unit and install a new dedicated circuit where needed, with RCD protection and a correctly rated isolator.

Good to know
Check the kW rating
The shower's rating is on its label or manual. Send us a photo along with the consumer unit and we can tell you whether your existing circuit is likely to be suitable.
How much does electric shower installation cost?
Every job is different, so we price it once we understand what's needed. The main factors are:
- Replacement or brand-new shower
- Whether a new circuit or larger cable is needed
- Distance from the consumer unit
- Plumbing work needed (separate trade if required)
We explain charges before we attend and agree the price of any work with you before it starts. Sending photos in advance helps us quote more accurately.
Electric Shower Installation: FAQs
Can I replace my shower with a more powerful one?
Often, but only if the circuit can handle the extra current. Higher-rated showers frequently need a larger cable and protective device.
Do you do the plumbing as well?
We handle the electrical work. Tell us if plumbing is needed and we'll let you know how that can be arranged.
