An Unsatisfactory EICR lists the items that need attention, coded C1 (danger present), C2 (potentially dangerous) and FI (further investigation required). For landlords in England, this work has a legal deadline.
Send us your existing report — even if another electrician carried out the inspection — and we'll review the observations, provide a clear quotation and complete the work. When we've finished, you'll get the appropriate certification and written confirmation that the remedial work has been carried out.

Good to know
Common remedial items
Missing or inadequate main protective bonding, lack of RCD protection on socket circuits, damaged or loose accessories, outdated or damaged consumer units, and incorrect polarity are among the most frequently reported observations.
C3 observations
C3 items are recommendations for improvement and do not by themselves make a report Unsatisfactory. We'll explain which ones are worth doing and which can wait.
How much does EICR remedial work cost?
Every job is different, so we price it once we understand what's needed. The main factors are:
- Number and type of C1, C2 and FI observations
- Whether a consumer unit replacement is required
- Earthing and bonding upgrades needed
- Access and making good
- Your deadline
We explain charges before we attend and agree the price of any work with you before it starts. Sending photos in advance helps us quote more accurately.
EICR Remedial Work: FAQs
Can you do remedial work on another company's EICR?
Yes. Send us a copy of the report and we'll quote for the listed items. Where an observation needs verifying, we'll check it before starting work.
Will I need a new EICR after remedial work?
Not usually. You'll receive certification for the remedial work, which, together with the original report, shows the issues have been addressed. A new full EICR is only needed if the original was limited or if you choose to have one.
How quickly can remedial work be completed?
It depends on the scope and parts required. Tell us your deadline when you get in touch and we'll be clear about whether we can meet it.
